Why Wfront?

New technologies make it possible for individuals to contribute to scientific progress in ways that were previously impossible. We call this Desktop Science: smart, agile science driven by small teams building novel tools and technologies.

Every year, universities produce thousands of highly skilled scientists capable of driving this new era of Desktop Science. Yet few pathways exist for turning ambitious ideas into reality.

Wfront helps scientists turn ambitious ideas into prototypes, technologies, and science-driven startups through funding, mentorship, and a community of builders.

Goals

  • We challenge scientists with an innovative idea to build a Startup or an Open Source product.

  • The aim is to achieve early Proof of Concept of their technology.

  • We focus on the Physical sciences powered by AI

Desktop Science is a way to do research independently, using accessible, low-cost tools rather than traditional labs or major funding.
Laboratory

Our 1 approach

Our challenge:

One year. One prototype. One cubic meter — a true desktop device.

We offer:
  • 1 year scientific fellowship, minimal bureaucracy

  • Scientists get the IP of  their work.

Let's start making waves!

In Physics, Christiaan Huygens' Wavefront Principle states that every point in a wavefront is itself a source of new waves, and the interaction of these fluctuations form a new Wavefront.

We believe the same happens with people.

No standard protocols. Only groundbreaking ideas. Plan your call now.
